KFC Coleslaw recipe!

July 13, 2008

I love KFC coleslaw. Every other coleslaw I’ve tasted has just not had the correct combination of sweetness, crunchiness, or subtle peppery bite that KFC coleslaw has. Out of curiosity, I went searching for recipe and I believe I’ve found one. I’ll have to try it out. Sounds really good, but now I’m hungry. Does KFC stay open this late? :-)

Ingredients

1 head cabbage — finely chopped
1 medium carrot — shredded
1/3  cup granulated sugar
1/2  teaspoon salt
1/8  tablespoon pepper
1/4  cup  milk
1/2  cup  mayonnaise
1/4  cup  buttermilk
1 1/2  tablespoons   white vinegar
2 1/2  tablespoons   lemon juice

Preparation is really easy. Just chop the cabbage and carrots up very finely and put them aside. Then take all the rest of the ingredients (sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, white vinegar, and lemon juice) and beat it until smooth. Then add in the cabbage and carrots, mix well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

This sounds like a great coleslaw recipe for your next backyard bbq! Believe me, we’ll be trying it out!
