Journalism 101
I don’t know why, but I always find it funny when reading a news story to find mistakes that make the journalist sound like an amateur. I assume they went to school for many years to become a journalist, so these types of “rookie” mistakes always amuse me. I found such a mistake tonight, which inspired this web page. The page will be updated with new material as I find it.

I was reading a story about a plane crash in Montana recently when I came across this.
“The plane, a single-engine turboprop Pilatus PC12, crashed about 500 feet from the airport while attempting to land and burst into flames.”
I doubt the plane was attempting to burst into flames. Perhaps it should have read:
“The plane, a single-engine turboprop Pilatus PC12, crashed and burst into flames about 500 feet from the airport while attempting to land.”
What amazes me is that the credits list TWO editors for this story.
