Aquila, the Eagle
Aquila, the Eagle – Aquila is the Latin word for eagle. The brightest star in the constellation Aquila is Altair, the Arabic word for eagle. This constellation was also known to the Romans as Vultur volans (flying vulture). Aquila consists of 8 main stars: Altair (Alpha Aquilae), Alshain (Beta Aquilae), Tarazed (Gamma Aquilae), Deneb el Okab (Epsilon Aquilae), Deneb el Okab (Zeta Aquilae), Bezek (Eta Aquilae), Tseen Foo (Theta Aquilae), Al Thalimain (Iota Aquilae), and Al Thalimain (Lambda Aquilae).
